GEORGIA Public Death Records

In Florida anyone can apply for a death certificate. However, only a few classes of persons will be granted a certificate that contains information on the cause of death. Such classes of persons are, namely: (1) the immediate family member or grandchild of the deceased, (2) a person who has legal interest in the estate of the deceased, (3) or a person representing the first two mentioned. In any of these cases, you have to provide with your application a copy of a valid photo ID in order to get a certificate with the cause of death included.

But for certificates which have lapsed beyond 50 years, the information on the cause of death becomes public information.

After stating your eligibility for application, you need to provide information for both the deceased whose name is on the certificate as well as your personal information. Aside from your full names, the other details will vary depending on what your eligibility is.

Start Your preliminary search by filling the the form at the top of the page and see if there's a record available for your query.

GEORGIA Death Certificates

Ordering a death certificate in Florida is easy if you know how to go about it. There are a couple of steps that you generally have to follow if you want to easily obtain the death certificate you are looking for.

Generally, you need to fill out an application or you can send a signed letter of request to the State Bureau of Vital Statistics. Alternatively, you can make the application via phone by contacting (877) 550-7330.

After stating your eligibility for application, you need to provide information for both the deceased whose name is on the certificate as well as your personal information. Aside from your full names, the other details will vary depending on what your eligibility is.

Then you have to state what kind of death certificate you are asking for. A photocopy of the original, which will be stamped with a seal of Florida , costs $5.00 each, while any additional copy requested for at the same time as the first one will cost $4.00 each.

Standard delivery, which costs nothing, takes around 10 business days. If you indicated your request for a Rush delivery you have to pay an additional $10 so that your document will arrive faster. But if you added an Express envelope with your application, you can pay $10 additional to get your document in 1-2 business days. You can pay either via mail using a money order (don't send cash) or by phone, which has applicable charges.
